Merland
The Kingdom of Merland is an island country off the coast of the Central continental mainland, sharing a border with Galland. Merland is also part of the Central Continental Economic Union.
The largest empire in history at its peak and the birthplace of western magic practices, Merland is an old and respected nation, even if most of its influence is now long gone.

Language
The official and national language of Merland is the traditional dialect of Merlian, which shares most of its grammar, vocabulary and phonetics with our world's British English language. For the sake of simplicity, the terms "Merlian" and "English" will sometimes be used interchangably within the articles.
The country's name is derived from the Old Merlian words for "land of the sea".
Demographics
The majority of Merland's population is Lapines (rabbits) with a sizable population of Western Lunares (dogs), as well as large immigrant populations of Chasses (cats) and Eastern Lunares (foxes).
